Kaleidoscope Lite for
Bat Analysis

Get a jump start on bat analysis with this interactive intro course. Though designed for beginners, even power users can pick up some new analysis tips and workflows.

 

In addition to core content like processing and labeling bat call files, optional “bolt-on” content is included to train you on topics such as using shortcut keys to speed through your analysis. Once you've learned the basics, you’ll have a chance to test your new knowledge by participating in some simple hands-on activities using downloadable sample data.

 

Note: This class provides a foundation for higher-level bat species auto-ID and cluster analysis available through Kaleidoscope Pro. A Kaleidoscope Pro license is not required for this course.

PAUL HOWDEN-LEACH

Paul has worked as a professional ecologist for 25 years and has a wealth of experience in protected species survey, including bats, amphibians, reptiles, terrestrial mammals, and birds. Paul specialises in the identification of bats and birds through sound and sonogram analysis. He is a qualified adult education instructor and has taught at numerous further and higher education institutions throughout the world, from formal lecture settings to in-field active sound recording training. In addition Paul has acted as a consultant and advisor for the BBC and other TV production companies.
