Intro to Kaleidoscope for Birds & Land Animals (Beginner)

10 am GMT | 5am EST | 10:00 UTC

Cluster analysis is a powerful tool for surveying species and determining presence/absence. Kaleidoscope includes a cluster analysis feature that extracts audible signals of interest from larger files and sorts them by similarity. We’ll discuss the theory of how cluster analysis works, including tuning parameters for best results, and then we’ll put it into practice with actual audio files. This class will provide a foundation for building simple and advanced classifiers. A Kaleidoscope Pro trial license and sample recordings will be provided for attendees to play along in class.
