How to Find Target Sounds with Kaleidoscope Pro (Advanced)

Learn how to use Kaleidoscope Pro to find a specific sound within even the most acoustically “busy” recording. We’ll discuss multiple techniques you can implement to find a particular animal vocalization or sound of interest within your recordings. Practice using the spectrogram to examine sample files and discover how to fine-tune search parameters to get the best results. Finally, learn how to test and use FFT adjustments to separate similar (but different) sounds. We will discuss strategies for building effective classifiers to isolate one or more target sounds within your recordings over time. A Kaleidoscope Pro trial license and sample recordings will be provided for attendees to “play along” in class.
