How to Start a General Survey with Kaleidoscope Pro (Advanced)
10 am EST | 3 pm GMT | 15:00 UTC
Learn how to use Kaleidoscope Pro to populate a general species survey, starting with how to prepare a spreadsheet. We’ll use cluster analysis to generate a list of species in our sample recordings. We’ll also address when a species may arrive or leave an environment (and how to track that over time) and discuss measuring relative species abundance and handling rare and so-far-not-found species. Finally, we will build a simple classifier to demonstrate how multiple species can be conveniently found and labeled as part of an ongoing survey. At each step, we will examine how to use Kaleidoscope Pro most effectively to save you time in the long run. A Kaleidoscope Pro trial license and sample recordings will be provided for attendees to play along in class.
