If you have never used a wildlife audio recorder before, this workshop is for you! Learn the basics of sound recording, how different species vocalize, the equipment you'll need to record them, and how to manage and look at your data. There will be plenty of case studies to learn from and some simple recording exercises that can be done right from your cell phone.

Dr. Fran Tattersal
Following a research career focused on British wildlife conservation, Fran now works in technical sales, training, and business development related to ecology and the environment. She has a particular interest in bioacoustics and the emerging science of acoustic indices. Fran provides advice and training on wildlife sound recorders and analysis to companies across Europe. She is a keen naturalist and enjoys trying to identify birds by ear.
